This combination of pictures taken on July 2, 2023 shows the location where Victor Lee, 17 years old, was found stabbed in the water on the Grand Union Canal near Scrubs Lane, in west London, despite the efforts to save him after pulling him out of the canal, Victor Lee died at the scene. Three boys, aged 14, 16 and 17, have been charged with the murder and for the robbing of his bicycle and rucksack. They were remanded in custody ahead of a trial from May 7, 2024. The Metropolitan Police recorded 110 homicides in 2023 in Greater London, one more compared to the year before. Of the 110 homicides, 71 of them were committed using a knife, and 21 concerned teenagers. A number that highlights an increase of 50% on the total number of teenage homicides compared to 2022.
